a letter from our president

The Covid-19 virus has increased in the number of cases in the last 3 days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) to a total number of cases of 823 in the Tri-County Area. Instead of going down, it’s going up. As President, I feel it is imperative that our Web Site, TVVCC, NOT POST ANY CAR SHOWS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. I have received several calls from non-members in the last few days, that saw car shows for this Saturday on our Web Site and wanted information on how they can go to the Cruise-In Car Show at Spanish Springs. We have been posting car shows on a regular basis and I don’t want anyone getting the virus because they want to go to these shows. I don’t want any of our members or non-members to get sick because of our Web Site. There is no telling how many people view the web site and that is a scary thing. We don’t encourage anyone to go to the car shows, PERIOD. With that said, Diana and I continue to Pray for Everyone, and if you need our help, we are just a phone call away. Call us at 817-991-8644 if you need help with anything.

COVID19 UPDATES: We can say one thing for certain: This year will go down in HISTORY BOOKS. It looks like our Club won’t be meeting at Truman Rec. Center, in the near future. We have been told that it will be at least this Fall before the villages will allow any group events.

With all this being said, we have a couple off site events happening if anyone is interested in attending.

Old Town, in Kissimmee, Florida, is beginning car shows on June 12th. You can go to their web site for more details. Just click on the link.

The Sonic Cruise-In is on the second Wednesday of each month from 5:00-7:00 PM.

The Chatum Glen Car Show that was posted for June 13th, HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19

There was a great article about Steve Haumann’s 1937 Ford and his matching golf cart. We Hope everyone saw it Last Friday and Sunday in the Villages Sun Newspaper. Congratulations, Steve. it sure has been a long time coming. There is also a great article in the June Villages magazine of Sam and Linda Bertone’s 1968 Camaro RS/SS. Congratulations you 2.

This is the end of our latest news, but if anything develops we will be sure to let you know.

Thanks, and STAY WELL

Diane and I are praying all is well with each of you. We are doing great now that we’re getting somewhat back to reopening our Beautiful Villages. I don’t see the Villages opening until maybe July. We will probably not have any meetings until August or September. Hopefully, we can get back to having car shows in August

I’m going to keep looking at various car shows that normally schedule. I will keep everyone informed as soon as I know anything. I’m sure Alex Such will let us know when he has a car show at Sonic Drive-In

If anyone knows of any car shows being planned, let me know and it will be posted to the web and I will send everyone an email. Until then, looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
